Jail for cat caught breaking into prison

A cat has been put in prison after it was caught trying to get into a jail with a saw and a mobile phone.

The mischievous moggy has been detained after prison guards spotted it crossing the main gate of a Brazilian jail in Arapiraca with tape around it.

When they approached the feline, they discovered the four-legged friend had an array of gadgets stuck to it including a memory card, a charger, batteries, drills and even files - and they are now having difficulties communicating with the crafty cat.

A prison spokesperson told local paper Estado de S.Paulo: "It's tough to find out who's responsible for the action as the cat doesn't speak."
