Man fakes car crash in outlandish (or creepy?) marriage proposal

A Russian man faked his own death in a strange marriage proposal.

Alexey Bykov enlisted the help of stuntmen, a script writer, a film director and make-up artists to stage a fake car crash and arranged to meet his girlfriend, Irena Kolokov, at the crash site.

When she turned up she was told her beloved boyfriend had died but after breaking down in tears at the news, Alexey – who was covered in fake blood - jumped up and proposed to Irena, who accepted his offer.

She is quoted by Orange News as saying: "I was so cross I almost killed him again, but for real this time."

Alexey added: "I wanted her to realise how empty her life would be without me and how life would have no meaning without me. I think it worked but I promise it's the last time."
