You need to be told?! Don't microwave your pants…

Firefighters in Britain were called into action after a man set his flat alight by microwaving his socks and pants.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service managed to save the guy from his home in Weymouth, on England's south west coast, and put the blaze out in his kitchen, which was caused when he put his wet clothing in the appliance to dry it off.

Needless to say his microwave, socks and two pairs of underwear were unable to be saved in the inferno.

The fire service said in a statement: "The fire safety message here is to never put clothing of any kind in the microwave or an oven to attempt to dry them."
