A German engineer kidnapped in the Nigerian city of Kano about five months ago has been killed in a failed rescue attempt, officials say.

A German engineer kidnapped in the Nigerian city of Kano about five months ago has been killed in a failed rescue attempt, officials say.

The operation to free Edgar Fritz Raupach happened in early today.
