Pilot praised after emergency landing

The helicopter company involved in an emergency landing in the North Sea this afternoon has praised the way the pilot handled the situation.

The pilot made the decision when an oil pressure warning light came on.

14 people were on board when it ditched in the sea - 29 miles off Aberdeen.

All of them escaped unharmed.

Ashley Roy is from the Bond Aviation Group:

"It is a difficult procedure and the pilot and the co-pilot should be commended for their skill in executing this procedure", he said.

"As a result of their skill 12 passengers and the two crew themselves were unhurt and were able to return to their families today".
