Mother and son die in separate car accidents in US

A mother and son in the US have been killed in separate car accidents just hours apart in the state of Wisconsin.

45-year-old Mary Moore died after she was struck by a vehicle on a street in at around 1am on Sunday.

Meanwhile separately, a friend was rushing her son - 22- year-old Thomas Olson - to the hospital to see her, when he struck three parked cars and overturned.

The son was killed in the crash.

The driver of the car the son was travelling in has been arrested on suspicion of drunk-driving.
