Dog shot dead after attacking girl in UK, man held
A man has been arrested after police in Britain shot dead a dog which had bitten a 12-year-old girl.
Gloucestershire Police said the 38-year-old was arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control in a public place.
The man, from Gloucester, who has not been named, is being quizzed by officers after the girl was attacked by the animal in Tewkesbury yesterday.
Several shots of a Taser electric stun gun failed to stop the Staffordshire bull terrier which had also bitten a man and tried to attack police.
Officers chased the dog into a park, in which children were playing, and used a shotgun to kill it.
