21 injured in Sri Lanka prison riot

At least 21 people have been injured in a clash between guards and inmates at a Sri Lankan prison, officials said.

Soldiers were deployed to control the riot by the prisoners, who started a fire inside the jail in Colombo.

A prison official said the inmates were demanding that the prison chief be removed.

A medical official said one guard and 20 prisoners were taken to hospital.
