New life sentence for Carlos the Jackal
Carlos the Jackal has been sentenced to life in prison – again – in a Paris trial that ended with him rallying for revolution and weeping for Muammar Gaddafi.
The flamboyant Venezuelan who symbolised Cold War terrorism has not seen freedom since French agents spirited him out of Sudan in a sack in 1994. He is already serving a life sentence in a French prison for a triple murder in 1975.
