Drinks company told to halt blood donation promotion
A UK drinks company that offered students free alcohol if they give blood has now stopped the promotion after health authorities slammed the idea.
Teenagers had to register online at the temporary blood bank in Leeds, England, to qualify for some free Turbo 4% strength shandy.
An NHS spokesman explained the authority "did not welcome or condone this sort of promotional activity".
The organisation admitted it was concerned about the health message that was been conveyed by the offer.
