European Commission to unveil new debt-crisis plan

A fresh round of proposals to address the eurozone's debt crisis will be unveiled by the European Commission today.

Economics Commissioner Olli Rehn will join the EC President Jose Manuel Barroso in unveiling the plan, which includes the proposed eurobonds.

The plan would also give Europe beefed up powers over member states' budgets.

The plan must be approved by individual countries, as well as the European Parliament, before being put into action.
