Nine-year-old girl: 'What did you stop me for? I was driving good.'

A US father has reportedly let his nine-year-old daughter drive him to a petrol station.

Shawn Weimer, 39, faces a felony of child abuse and being a habitual offender after he was thought to be drunk when he let his little girl get behind the wheel of his van, the Detroit Free Press newspaper reports.

But the girl didn't appear to be having any problems driving the car.

Brownstown Township Police Detective Lt. Robert Grant explained: "She was doing fine. And, in fact, as heinous as this is, the little girl looks at the police officer and says, 'What did you stop me for? I was driving good.' Incredible. Obviously, the officer told her she was too young to drive."
