Protesters strip off for bike ride

Protesters have stripped off for the London section of the World Naked Bike Ride.

The demonstration - part of an international bike ride - featured around 1,000 naked cyclists, who were campaigning against a view there is a need to depend on oil and cars, as well as highlighting how vulnerable cyclists are on the street.

It was the eighth London version of the event, which also took place in Toronto, Ottawa, Chile, Greece and Cardiff.

Attendees were encouraged to "bare as you dare" as the spectacle set off from London's Hyde Park, taking in Buckingham Palace along the nine-mile route.

However, it was not compulsory for participants to be naked, with organisers suggesting to wear "as little as you can while still feeling comfortable".
