Engineers continue to restore power to stricken Japan

Engineers are still battling to restore power to Japan's quake-stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant.

The International Atomic Energy Agency is hoping to switch the electricly supply back on later today to help reduce the temperatures.

But they still do not know if the water pumps will work when the power comes back on.

Meanwhile, Japan is considering whether to stop sales of food products from near Fukushima, because of radioactive contamination.

In what it called another "critical" measure to counter contamination of food, the IAEA said Japanese authorities recommended that people leaving the area should ingest stable iodine.

Though public fear of radiation runs deep, health officials said levels so far are not alarming.
