Eight pupils hurt in Scottish air-weapon incident

Eight pupils were injured when an air weapon was fired near a school in Scotland today.

Police said the students at Auchinleck Academy in East Ayrshire were not seriously hurt in the incident in the town’s Church Street this afternoon.

One pupil remains at Crosshouse Hospital, outside Kilmarnock.

A Strathclyde Police statement said: “Police are following a definite line of inquiry.”
