Britain is seeking international condemnation of Libya’s bloody repression of protests against Muammar Gaddafi’s 42-year rule, described by Prime Minister David Cameron as “unacceptable, counter-productive and wrong”.

Estimates of deaths after several days of clashes topped 200 yesterday after forces loyal to Gaddafi opened fire on mourners at a funeral for protesters killed earlier in the week.
