Police red-faced as 'murder scene' revealed as horror movie set
US police spent eight-hours investigating a murder scene – which turned out to be a horror movie set.
One Pittsburgh officer branded the room at the George Washington hotel "the most grisly murder scene" he’d ever witnessed, with blood spattered everywhere, bottles of alcohol strewn across the floor and "a piece of a scalp with hair still attached".
Police eventually realised the blood wasn’t real and further enquiries revealed the room was part of the set of ‘New Termina Hotel’ – a movie starring the late Corey Haim – and had been left untouched in case any re-shoots were needed.
