The trustee working to recover money for victims fleeced by disgraced former Nasdaq chief Bernard Madoff says he has filed 40 lawsuits against his relatives and former employees.

Irving Picard, whose firm is seeking nearly US$68.6m (€51.7 m), said 22 lawsuits were filed against relatives of both Madoff and his wife Ruth, and 18 against former employees of Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities.
