NASA prepare for shuttle lift-off

The shuttle Atlantis is preparing for its final mission into space this evening.

It is taking six astronauts to the International Space Station and lift-off is scheduled for 7.20pm Irish time from the Kennedy Space Center.

NASA's shuttle programme is due to be mothballed at the end of the year after two more missions for Discovery and Endeavour.
