Greece expects to receive the first tranche of funds under a €45bn EU-IMF aid package before May 19.

The Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou said the money is needed to help the country out of the current economic crisis.

The 16-eurozone countries, including Ireland, have already agreed to provide up to €30bn in emergency loans for Greece.
