A painting of Australia’s most notorious outlaw sold at auction for AUD$5.4m (€3.6m), a record bid for an Australian artwork.

The 1946 Sidney Nolan painting of Ned Kelly sold to an unidentified telephone bidder at the auction house Menzies Art Brands.
