Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic is pressing countries to release secret documents he said will help his defence against charges of genocide and war crimes in Bosnia in the early 1990s.

Representatives of Germany, France, Croatia and Iran are appearing at the Yugoslav war trials tribunal at The Hague to explain why they object to handing over the papers demanded by Karadzic.
