Al-Qaida terror cells have trained a group of female suicide bombers to attack Western targets, according to a former White House counter terrorism adviser.

Richard Clarke said the women are linked to the same group which dispatched the man who tried to blow up a plane over the US on Christmas Day.

Terror expert, Professor Paul Wilkinson, from the University of St Andrews, supports the claim.
