Anti-govt campaigner killed in Iranian bombing
A prominent supporter of Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi was killed in a bomb attack at his home today.
Nuclear physics professor Masoud Ali Mohammadi publicly backed Mr Mousavi in the June presidential election.
He was caught in the blast when a booby-trapped motorbike blew up outside his home.
Mr Mohammadi was a professor at Tehran University which has been at the centre of recent protests by student opposition supporters.
Before the election, pro-reform websites published Mr Mohammadi’s name among a list of 240 university teachers who supported Mr Mousavi.
The government blamed the attack on an armed Iranian opposition group under the direction of Israel and the US
Hardline government supporters called at recent street rallies for the execution of the opposition leaders.
