Tourist ship frozen in Antarctic ice
More than 100 tourists, scientists and journalists have become stuck in the ice on an Antarctic cruise.
Russian-based Fareastern Shipping Company says the Captain Khlebnikov icebreaker and all the people on board are not in any danger.
A spokesman today told Russia’s Vesti 24 television that the ship is waiting for a stronger wind to begin moving. He said the icebreaker needs to cover five miles to reach clear water.
Tourists on board the ship are using the stop to tour the surrounding area.
