Man jailed after Obama death threats
A man has been jailed for a year and a day for threatening to shoot dead Barack Obama while he was running for the US presidency.
Jerry Blanchard, 48, of North Carolina, was also fined £1,875 (€2,200) and ordered to be supervised for three years after his prison term. A federal affidavit said there was no evidence that Blanchard tried to carry out the threats.
Meanwhile former armoured car firm employee Daniel Murray, 36, faces a charge of threatening Mr Obama while at Zions First National Bank in St George, Utah.
