A French university has been accused of awarding diplomas to Chinese students in exchange for bribes.

Higher Education Minister Valerie Pecresse said the University of Toulon was being investigated and the Le Monde newspaper said that as many as several hundred students were involved in the scam, which allowed them to buy a fake diploma for around €3,000.
