Troops invade Madagascar palace

Soldiers took over one of the presidential palaces in Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo today as the president was elsewhere.

The soldiers drove an armoured vehicle through the gates of the palace usually used for ceremonial occasions then set off two explosions and fired scattered shots.
