Ten drowned in Bangladesh boat capsize

Ten women and children have been killed after a boat sank after a collision with another passenger ferry in eastern Bangladesh, a police official said today.

Local police chief Lehajuddin said they had recovered 10 bodies.

The accident occurred today in the Titas River in Brahmanbaria district when the boat, carrying some 50 passengers, collided with another large ferry.

The area is 50 miles east of the capital, Dhaka.
