Ten women and children have been killed after a boat sank after a collision with another passenger ferry in eastern Bangladesh, a police official said today.

Lightning strikes during seasonal rainstorms killed at least seven people and injured five others today in the Bangladeshi capital and two other eastern districts, a news agency reported.

A STORM packing hail, heavy rain and winds of up to 120 km per hour has killed at least 23 Bangladeshi villagers, with 19 people missing, witnesses said yesterday.
