Pilot killed in Ohio lawn crash
A pilot was killed when a small plane crashed on the front lawn of an empty house in rural north-eastern Ohio.
Ohio State Highway Patrol said the aircraft hit a flagpole. No passengers were on board.
The crash sparked a fire that damaged the house’s garage but nobody on the ground was injured.
The crash occurred in a residential area of Uniontown surrounded by farmland. The Highway Patrol believed the plane was attempting to land at Akron-Canton Airport about two miles away.
