Aubry wins French socialist Party leadership
The French Socialist Party said today that the architect of France’s 35-hour work week has won the party’s leadership in an extremely tight race – an outcome quickly challenged by supporters of her rival.
Former Labour minister Martine Aubry edged out 2007 presidential candidate Segolene Royal by 42 votes in a run-off in which nearly 135,000 members of France’s main opposition party cast ballots, the party said.
