Thailand in bid to seize Thaksin assets
The Thai Attorney General’s office said today it had filed a writ asking the Supreme Court to seize more than £1bn (€1.2bn) in cash and assets from deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Waiyawuth Lohtrakul, the deputy chief of Attorney General’s office, said the suit would attempt to determine how much of the cash Manchester City FC boss Mr Thaksin earned legitimately through his media business and how much resulted from corruption while in office.
