Eleven charged with planning Barcelona suicide attacks
A Spanish judge has charged 11 Muslims with planning suicide attacks on Barcelona’s public transport.
Judge Ismael Moreno of the National Court said that the cell had planned to bomb Spain’s second-largest city last January
The suspects are nine Pakistanis, one Indian and one whose nationality was not given.
In the charges released today the judge accused the men of belonging to a terrorist organisation and possessing explosives.
Ten of the suspects were arrested in January. One remains at large.
