Interpol has 200 leads in paedophile suspect hunt
Interpol said today that it has received more than 200 leads in 24 hours following a worldwide public appeal for help in identifying a man seen sexually abusing young South East Asian boys in photos posted on the internet.
The international police agency reported nearly 30 times more visitors than on an average day to its website in the first 12 hours after the appeal launch.
In a statement today, Interpol called the response “very positive” but declined to provide details about the leads.
The agency, based in Lyon, France, released six photos of the grey-haired, white man, seemingly in his late 40s or early 50s, yesterday.
The pictures are thought to have been taken in 2000 and 2001.
