A man died on a railway line after he was hit by a train in the UK, police said today.

A man died on a railway line after he was hit by a train in the UK, police said today.

The man, who was in his teens or early 20s, was struck on the track in South Wales, just before 5.20am.

The death was reported by the driver of the 4.55am First Great Western train from Swansea to Hereford.

British Transport Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A BTP spokeswoman said: “The train was travelling through the station at 95mph when it struck and killed a man in his teens or early 20s on the line by platform two.”

Rail services were suspended in both directions while the man’s body was recovered and taken to the hospital.
