Iran releases American activist

A leading Iranian peace activist and American citizen has been freed from prison in Tehran on the eve of president Ahmadinejad's key address to the UN.

Ali Shakeri, who has dual nationality, spent four months in jail in the Iranian capital after being accused of trying to stir up a revolution.
