EU issues warning on Mattel toy safety

Mattel has "a lot of ground to cover to rebuild trust in the toy industry", the European Union's consumer chief Meglena Kuneva told the company on Thursday.

She said she had asked the company to give EU regulators details of new checks and controls it has introduced since it was forced to recall millions of Chinese-made toys with unsafe levels of lead, as well as magnets that detach too easily.
