Flights cancelled after plane's emergency landing
Scandinavian airline SAS cancelled all flights today to a regional airport where a passenger plane caught fire after a dramatic emergency landing.
Five of the 73 people on board received minor injuries while evacuating the aircraft yesterday after its right landing gear collapsed during touchdown at the Aalborg airport in western Denmark, SAS said.
The Q400 turboprop was still on the runway Monday, blocking traffic. SAS decided to drop all flights to Aalborg because the alternate runway at the airport was not big enough for its planes, spokesman Bertil Ternert said.
