Towns lining the River Thames are finally seeing conditions improve, the Environment Agency said today.

Residents who have been nervously watching the waters rise towards their homes should see levels start to drop throughout the day.

But for those whose homes are flooded, including hundreds in Oxfordshire, it could be another two days before they see the water recede significantly.
