A parked car bomb detonated in a crowd of workers at a Shiite marketplace in Baghdad today, killing at least 82 people, police and hospital officials said.

At least 82 people were killed and 94 others wounded in the blast, said Raad Muhsin, an official at Al-Kindi Hospital where the victims were taken. A police official confirmed the toll.
