Filipino devotees nailed to crosses
Christian devotees have been nailed to crosses on a dusty mound in a northern Philippine village where Good Friday rites drew thousands of tourists and spectators.
The Lenten ritual is opposed by religious leaders in the Philippines - south-east Asia’s largest predominantly Catholic nation – but it has become one of the country’s most-awaited summer attractions in San Fernando City’s San Pedro Cutud village, about 45 miles north of Manila.
