Indonesian militants found guilty of schoolgirl beheadings

Three Islamic militants were today found guilty of beheading three Christian girls in central Indonesia and dumping their heads in nearby villages.

Hasanuddin, who goes by a single name, was sentenced to 20 years for masterminding the 2005 attack on Sulawesi island, buying the machetes and leaving a hand-written note at the scene vowing more killings.

Co-conspirators Lilik Purnomo and Irwanto Irano were handed 14-year jail terms, said presiding judge Lilik Mulyadi in Jakarta.
