Kidnapped Italian reporter freed in Afghanistan

An Italian journalist who was kidnapped in Afghanistan two weeks ago has been released, the Italian Foreign Ministry said today.

Daniele Mastrogiacomo, a reporter for Italian daily La Repubblica, was kidnapped along with two Afghans travelling with him on March 5 in southern Helmand province’s Nad Ali district.
