Building near White House evacuated in bomb alert

A federal building close to the White House was vacuated today because of a bomb scare.

The White House Conference Center on Jackson Place is serving as the temporary residence of the White House press corps.

Deputy press secretary Scott Stanzel said a car checked by a bomb-sniffing dog had tested positive.
