British man with broken neck returns home safely

The family of an injured British man being sought by police in the Netherlands have informed the services he has returned safely.

Amsterdam police were seeking 29-year-old Benjamin William O’Connor when X-rays at a hospital in the UK revealed he had suffered a broken neck in a car accident and had since been discharged from hospital.

Doctors warned that he is in risk of severing his spinal cord but didn't know it.

O'Connor's family at his home in Bury St Edmunds said: "He's back. He's fine.

“He has been checked out at the hospital and we don’t want to talk about it any further.”
