UN vote on sanctions 'close'

The US and its closest western allies are close to calling for a vote on UN Security Council sanctions against Iran, even at the risk that Russia and China may abstain or oppose the measures, officials said today.

"They're talking about a vote as soon as possible," said a US official of plans by the Americans, French and British.
