Bangladeshi Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank have won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, it was announced in Oslo, Norway, today.

Bangladeshi Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank have won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, it was announced in Oslo, Norway, today.

The pair, who will share the prize, were cited for their efforts to create economic and social development from below in their home country by using innovative economic programmes such as microcredit lending.
