Pakistani police say they will not deport British girl
Pakistani police told a court today that they did not intend to detain or deport a British girl in an international custody battle to the UK, a defence lawyer said.
Mian Saqib Nisar, a senior judge of the Lahore Court, issued the ruling on a petition from the father of 12-year-old Molly Campbell, also called Misbah Iram Ahmed Rana, who was taken to the eastern city of Lahore recently from Scotland's Western Isles.
Mollyâs mother has accused her ex-husband, Sajad Ahmed Rana, of abducting the girl. Molly says she begged her family to take her to Pakistan because she was miserable in Scotland.
