Olmert 'sure of victory' in Israeli election
Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he is sure of victory in Israel’s forthcoming election.
Polls indicate that Olmert’s centrist Kadima Party is far ahead of its competitors, the rightist Likud and the dovish Labour, though voter support for the party has slipped.
“The question of who will win the election has already been decided,” Olmert told Kadima activists yesterday evening.
“Now the question is whether we will be strong enough to do what we want to do, and for this purpose we need as many seats (in parliament) as possible.”
